Oh the (R)aces you will Go

Today I am extremely grateful for the FitFluential family. They been such an amazing get off your arse and move asset to my daily life via FaceBook, Twitter, or the 200+ blogs from our Ambassdors (check it, I am one!!). Ok, enough of the lovey dovey stuff. I need to save some of that for Finn ;)

Now let's talk about where I am going. Yep. Race talk. Sexy.

Charleston Half Marathon. I am just hoping not to die. I didn't really forget out it, I just didn't do any long runs in preparation (except my suck-tastic 11 miler 3 days ago) for it. At least I have 2 other college girlfriends running it with me, some other friends in town, and hoping to meet another #FitFluential while there, Hank.

St Pete Half Marathon. So I may actually do another long run or two to prep. Yep. I want to PR this one... nothing too lofty. Just beat my Charleston time. Oh, did I mention. Charleston is my first Half?! What you say! Yeah, I didn't do a half before my full. I got injured and DNS race half 3 months before Marathon.

Winter Warrior Duathlon. My first attempt at entering the tri world. 2.5 run/ 12 bike/ 2.5 run. My friend Sarah and I will TRI it. Or DU it ;)

Rear in Gear 5k  I will update you more on this later. Trust me... it will be awesome!

Beaufort Twilight 8k.  I ran the 5k last year and felt like I was going to die. Maybe it was the heat wave or the fact that it was an afternoon run. But either way, funny how a year can change you for the better! And the chicken dinners (winner, winner.... chicken dinner!) and oyster roast afterwards. YUMMY!

Susan G. Komen 5k. This will be the 5k that the group I am helping to coach will run! So exciting!

Flying Pig Half Marathon. Running this with my friend, Future Fit Girl. This is her half marathon and I am so proud of her to committing to running it AND fundraising for Team in Training.

FCA Open Water 2.4 Mile Swim. First open water swim. Goal- don't sucker punch anyone in the gut.

Augusta Half Ironman. O.M.G. We have not registered yet. We are in the base phase of our plan. I need to build up my swim still and bike. I am hoping that building it up and watching my nutrition will help me lose about 15lbs. That will help with the long distance and double workouts: less weight, less pounding of joints? And yes, I have a few pounds to donate ;)

Rock n Roll Savannah Full Marathon. And get the Encore medal (2 RnRs in a year!). 5:30 mary.... I want you!

Savannah Bridge Run. Probably not the Double Pump again... maybe just the 10k.

Reindeer Run. I want to win the costume contest. Again. I am already plotting my win. Don't judge.

Whew. I think that is it! The summer months are empty... it's hot  in Savannah, so we don't really race. But I will be upping my biking and swimming.

more SMILES & more MILES!

Hit 1,000 Miles?? I hit 535 in 2011... starting in February 28, 2011. I think 1,000 is lofty, but I can do it.

Any suggestions from Iron(wo)mans out there? Or men too?

  1. Hi!

New reader. I found you when I was browsing the fitfluential ambassador list and saw a Savannah ambassador! :) I'm in Hinesville so I'm your neighbor!

A few of those races above are on my to do list for 2012, too! Particularly the RnR, except I'll be doing the 1/2 since I've only been running for two months. I've got lots of training to do! :)

Come on over & say 'hi' sometime http://www.bluejeansflipflopsblog.com/
