3 DNation Fundraisers in 24hrs, plus 19 miles!

iCan and WE DID! Team iCan (Laurie and Danielle plus who's that??) held and participated in 3 separate fundraisers in 24 hours for the American Cancer Society DetermiNation.

Friday kicked off at Sunrise Restaurant with 10% of the total going to our team. So I sat there and ate gorged on bacon, eggs, grits, and about 8 cups of coffee from 6:30-8am to say HI to everyone!! Then from 10-11am at Laurie and I's 'place we collect a paycheck' (don't worry, we both LOVE our jobs and consider it much, much more than such) we held a bake sale. Now we didn't know what to expect, maybe raise about $30 which would have been awesome. BUT WE RAISED ABOUT $150 in an hour. Our peers are SUPER! GREAT! And just as cool as US! They asked all about our running. Surprised that Laurie and I were running 18 miles this weekend. And how cool the RnR Savannah course was. Our cups runneth over.

Hey friends!

I worked some more and then headed back to Sunrise for fabulous lunch... saw these jokers aka my friends! Anyways... we will find out the total of our 10% later this week.. Drum roll, please!

So I went around town later that night after work and picked up some furniture items for the yard sale that was on Saturday morning. I am so blessed to have such caring people who support me through various ways to find a cure.

By 9:30pm; Finn and I were all done loading, collecting, and gathering everything he would need to start the sale. Thank goodness for him! Because I had to wake up at 3:30am and pickup my running buddy, Charlotte, at 4:30am and drive to the groups run location to get in 8 miles before we ran 10 miles with the half marathoners. We didn't want to have our "better halves" doing the yard sale for us!! So we got in 19 miles based on the Garmins, ran into Panera and took a babywipe shower, grabbed some breakfast to-go, and headed over to the sale! We had 6 of our runners there selling there items and a good constant flow. This was our first time (being the 1st Annual RnR Sav) and we have some great ideas to make it better for next year!

All in all, a great 24 hours! Team iCan guesstimate raised $400 plus whatever Sunrise sends us!! Charlotte and I rocked our 19 mile run... I am feeling great this morning.

I will leave you with this as we are getting close to the race and fundraising is kicking up for all. From my friend, David " race with confidence in my head, DetermiNation in my heart, power in my legs and fun in my soul."
