Greetings y'all!
So a ton has happened in the last two weeks! I flew out to Portland for an amazing week of outrageous fun (more details on that in another post), got sick, ran, and found a new love.
During my outrageous week of fun, I managed to run 5 miles through what seemed like a scene from the 'Twilight' movie... up and down mountains and winding through the moss covered forest. This run was extra had; one in part to the hills, which are absent from Savannah and two, because I got some killer calf cramps on my cross-country flights that I had a hard time shaking. Thankfully the run seemed to help work it out from one calf, so I borrowed compression sleeves from another counselors to wear for the day. Whew! Relief!
After a week of outrageous fun and a fun outing in downtown Portland with my 'family', I boarded my red-eye flight. Cross country + camp + overnight flight = one sick VTB. UGH! All week I was congested, headache, body ache- and holy under eye bags! I tried to meet up with the afternoon marathon group for their 6 mile tempo run, with the intention of only running four of the miles. I was feeling alright the first mile holding an easy pace with another DetermiNation runner, but it was like a train wreck happened. BAM! I have never felt worse after a run. I kept running for another 2.5 miles and walked/ran the last half mile, quite pathetically. I think it was the slowest I have ran in about 4 years.
And my new love. Oh yoga & shopping. So my friend Jaclyn, who runs this fab website- www.shopmysavannah.com was telling me about Sunday yoga at Fab'rik, a great store on Broughton St in Savannah. So even after my dear friend Joe's birthday bash downtown; I woke up, grabbed my mat, and made my way to the store. After an hour of refreshing downward dogs and om's (which my C.R.E.W. coaches will be happy about since it was cross training day anyways!), we get to shop the store without the public and for 15% off!! AND, they have a new program for all those girlies engaged..... sign-up for free and you get 20% off anything until your wedding day!! LOVE LOVE LOVE their selection of cute, stylish, southern-comfort outfits. I got an adorable dress for our engagement party that is next weekend and another top (maybe for the brunch??). So fun!! Thanks, Jaclyn for introducing me.... I can't wait til I can go again!
I guess it's time to stop blogging and start helping T set up for our low countryboil and game night :)

Wow, running through a scene in twlight sounds pretty awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love Savannah. My sister Sarah went to school down there and is now doing fashion in New York.
We were debating coming down and running the Savannah marathon this Fall. Cute Blog!
