Bride vs. Bloat

Bride vs. Bloat

So I had my first major bridal moment today. Actual two in one day. But let's just discuss the silly one and not the one that makes me look cray-cray okay?! k.

So I have been traveling for work and for fun (RnR St Pete). With work travel comes client appointments. With client appointment comes yummy, long dinners. Those dinners are not quinoa and roasted vegs.  But fried lobster tail, pasta, breads, desserts, etc. All yummy goodness.

Oh and all with a side of sodium. Mix that with some rest for my knee.

And you have about a 6 lb water retention issue.

Usually I wouldn't fret. I know that my weight flucuates and I know how to manage it. But being that TODAY was my FINAL dress fitting at BleuBelle Bridal. So I called the boutique in a state of panic. What if I get fitted (my 3rd fitting) and in two weeks my dress is too big. What if those 6 lbs are the pesky little water devil that are magically make my dress puff out like a balloon?!

Shannon assured me that I could put on some Spanx for the fitting (thankfully my dress does not require them) and that I can put my dress on that Thursday during "Bustle Bootcamp" with my mother and Matron of Honor and if there are any issues the seamstress will do it overnight. whew. Freak out adverted.

But-- for anyone facing this issue in the future, no need to head over to your local drug store and buy a diuretic when you can try some of these methods below from Fit Sugar:

- Eat asparagus and other potassium rich foods.

- Drink lots and lots. Of water.

- Move it. It helps to end constipation.

- Like to be festive? Bring the holidays to your house year-round by drinking Peppermint Tea!

I have always heard that avoiding Diet Sodas help too!

My game plan the next two week is to avoid a lot of sodium, drink at least 10 8oz glasses of water a day, workout 4x each week (not heavy workouts-- yoga, swim, bike--being careful of my knee), and to relax!

Semi-spoiler alert: LAUNCH PARTY next week. So grab your Champagne, your cheez-whiz, and crackers and let's part-tay!!! The new site for Victoria Runs will be hoppin'. Party details coming soon.
Just BYOB ;)

QOD: What do you do to help the bloat? Ever want to suckerpunch it in it's face?
